Geisha Chives Plants

Allium tuberosum

Our newest addition, this Chive is a 2015 AAS Vegetable Award Winner!

A vigorous grower, this chive has a delicious ‘just right’ garlic flavor, described by judges as ‘more refined’. Aromatic , robustly flavored and perfect in soups, stir-fries, butters and as a garnish. Actually, this chive is perfect for any savory dish and don’t forget that the flowers are edible!

Easy to grow, Garlic Geisha Chives has wider, flatter leaves than your typical chive. It makes a great container plant, as well as lovely in the border. It is topped with lush white flower stalks that bring butterflies into a late summer garden.

I planted the chives in a medium size pot and it is flourishing . Added the leaves to sour cream for baked potatoes. Yum.
I am definitely buying another plant in the spring.

Haven't Enjoyed This One Yet May 1, 2017

I cant remember how many herb plants we ordered but it was a bunch.  The garden is growing great with the exception of our chive plants.  I'm guessing that I expect these little devils to grow, thicken and produce fast.  I think patience is in order here.  The plants were young upon arrival.  This plant is just waiting for that huge baked potato with butter, sour cream and these green morsels of flavor.
