      Herb gardening with Silver Edge Thyme will bring added dimension to the garden. Among herb plants with lovely variegation, this plant is sure to delight. This Thyme will partner well with other plants in the garden, especially handsome when planted in a pot and container. 

      The silver edged leaves have a brighter white variegation than other silver Thymes. A flavorful culinary herb, it can be used for any recipe calling for the lemony flavor of Thyme and works well with Parsley to season meats, stews and soups.

      This herb is very drought tolerant and can be used in place of grass on the lawn. To keep Thyme happy, plant in full sun and well-drained soil. Grows 8-12" tall.

      Characteristics: 'Silver Edge' Thyme is a small evergreen shrub, excellent for a ground cover. Leaves have white margins around dark green; flowers are light purple in summer.

       

      Light: Thyme is a Mediterranean herb—it will flourish in dry, sunny conditions.

       

      Water: Thyme has average water needs. Water regularly but be careful not to overwater.

       

      Soil: Thyme likes dry, lean, well-drained soil. Thyme is susceptible to root rot and fungus if exposed to constant moisture. Like most herbs, it's a good idea to thoroughly let thyme dry out before you give it a deep watering.

       

      Use: A fragrant culinary herb, silver edge thyme is a lovely addition to shellfish, egg dishes, and vegetables.
