Shipping Dates for Plant Material


  1. 'Shipping Begins' dates are approximate based on the previous year's shipping schedule. Actual dates are subject to change with weather conditions including temperatures in your area as well as ours.
  2. Fall Shipping begins mid-September through Christmas, weather permitting. Spring shipping begins in late March through mid-June, weather permitting.
  3. It is our goal to ship plants at just the right time for your particular area. We will check your zone, check the weather and ship when it is safe! We encourage customers to order early to ensure that you get just what you want - 'first come, first served'!
  4. In the very rare case where weather may prevent delivery of tender plants intended as gifts, we will send an announcement of your gift and then ship as soon as it is safe.
  5. All Hardgood orders are shipped with your plants, unless you request otherwise.
  6. There are some plants that are more sensitive to extremes in temperature, therefore these ship dates may not apply in cases when ordering these plants.

We offer several options for shipping: Residential Ground generally takes 2 - 4 business days, depending on your state. In order to make sure that your plants arrive safely, there are states that we only ship Air Express (including Texas, West Coast as well as other states West of the Mississippi). We can OVERNIGHT but you need to call the office for a rate quite. Choosing an method does not guarantee that your plants will arrive sooner, it means that you plants, once shipped, will arrive within 2 to 3 Days.

Additional Shipping Charges


Additional Shipping Charges are placed on certain products that require an extra freight cost to ship to you. Usually these products are over sized or difficult to ship. The charges are added to your shipping total, not your subtotal, at the time of checkout. They are in addition to any normal shipping rates that we offer. They are displayed to you when viewing a product, or after you have added one to your cart, so that you are aware of all costs at all times.

Express Saver 3 Day Shipping:


Plants should not ship over 5 days, therefore we offer our customers on the West Coast the option of 3 Day Shipping to ensure that their plants arrive in good shape. This is also a great option when you just can't wait, or you may be a little late with your gift giving! Simply Choose the 'Express Saver 3 Day' Option at checkout. Security Policy Orders placed on our website utilize SSL (secure socket layers) to protect credit card information so that it cannot be read in transit. PLANT SHIPPING STATEMENT


It is our goal to ship plants at just the right time for your particular area. Some of the plants can be shipped year round, while others require specific timing. We encourage customers to order early to ensure that you get just what you want - first come, first served! We avoid shipping plants near the end of the week to avoid having them sit in a warehouse over the weekend. Requesting Express Shipping at the end of the week does not guarantee that plants will ship that week. Regretfully we cannot ship outside the continental U.S. or to Alaska. Please be sure your address is correct (incorrect addresses result in extra charges to you and delayed shipments). Postal box users please give a physical address for shipments.

Our top-quality plants are packed in our own greenhouses by our own staff, in a manner to ensure that you receive them in perfect condition. Once they arrive at their destination, care in handling is a must. We include instructions for planting in every order. And, you are always welcome to contact us with any questions you may have.

The time, gas and frustration you save by not running around town looking for these plants from garden center to garden center will more than pay for the shipping!

EMAIL ADDRESSES are how we contact you should we have questions regarding your order, notifying you of your shipment delivery or relay other important information. Your email and personal information WILL NOT be used for any other purpose.

LIVE PLANT GUARANTEE


Every plant we ship has been grown on our farm and packed by our staff of dedicated employees. On occasion, we will ship plants from our contracted growers who have been hand-picked by us, and we have been doing business with them for over 20 years. Each plant is of the finest quality - inspected by us, packed by us and sent to ensure that you receive a healthy product.

Inspect your plants immediately upon arrival. If there are problems, please email our office within 48 hours of arrival. Remember that plants will experience a little wear in their travels, so expect a yellow leaf or two and it is not unusual to find a broken stem as well. Plants will perk up with proper care. Follow our planting and care instructions carefully.

We are not responsible for delays or damages in shipping, but we will provide you with WRITTEN instructions to assist you in filing a claim with the shipper. These are found attached to your packing slip.

GUARANTEE: Our plants are of the highest quality and are healthy when they leave our greenhouse.  They are ready for transplant AS LONG AS YOU FOLLOW OUR INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY.  If your plants fail within ten (10) days of arrival, please contact us via info@thegrowers-exchange.com.  Please understand that we cannot be responsible for the results of extreme weather, neglect, ignoring our hardiness zone information and care instructions. There are too many factors outside of our control to guarantee long-term survival: your neighbor's dog, poor soil, the gardener's plant knowledge and gardening experience, insects and voles.  We are here to help so please contact us.

We want you to be happy and satisfied with your plants. It is your responsibility to find the right home for your plants, to give them enough water, sun and nutrients to keep them healthy, to protect them from extreme weather and to plant them in a timely manner. Once in your care, any plant can be affected by its environment and we cannot take responsibility for the soil conditions, inclement weather or any other forces of nature that can harm your plants.

Hard Good Shipping Statement


Our hard goods are packed in our own warehouses, by our own staff, in a manner to ensure that you receive them in perfect condition. We offer gift wrapping for almost all of our goods.

Returns:

We are not responsible for delays or damages in shipment. The customer is responsible for contacting the shipper. If you are not completely satisfied with a hard good purchase, you may return it to us within 14 days of receiving the item for a refund or an exchange. Please CONTACT OUR OFFICE before returning any product. Once we have been notified, please repack the item, enclose the packing slip, insure the package and send it back to us:
