Mentha suaveolens 'Variegata'’
We encourage our customers to add zest to their
herb gardening with our mint
herb plants.
Pineapple Mint is a hybrid derived from Apple Mint, but with a sweeter and fruitier scent. This herb plant has light green leaves streaked with cream stripes that vary with the season. These attractive and substantial leaves are great for garnishing desserts and drinks! As an ornamental herb, this plant looks great in
pots and containers.
In Ancient Greece, Mint was considered the herb of hospitality and adorned banquet tables regularly. Today, this pineapple-scented mint still has ornamental and culinary significance due to its deliciously sweet flavor and fragrance and its beautifully variegated leaves. Though one of the more fragile mints to grow due to the ease with which it bruises and wilts, Pineapple Mint makes a great addition to an indoor herb garden or in a place outdoors with partial shade and cover from hard downpours.
Pineapple Mint also makes a beautiful element to any table arrangements, wreaths or potpourris and its perfume will infuse your home with its sweet,
aromatic bouquet.
For a great flavor combination for fruit salads, fish, poultry or drinks, try pairing this pretty mint with
Citrus Kitchen Mint for a great tropical taste!
Also available in our four inch hand thrown Guy Wolff
Greenhouse Pot. The aged finish of these classic terracotta pots will add style
to your naturally beautiful plants! Whether it's a "thank you" for
the hostess with the “mostest”, or a corporate Christmas gift, these potted
herbs make the perfect gift.
