Anemone 'Honorine Jobert' Plants

hybrida

We have picked a REAL WINNER with this lovely Anemone. 'Honorine Jobert' was the PPA Perennial of the Year 2016, as well as the RHS Award of Garden Merit in 1993. This is truly a timeless classic, as it was created in the mid 1800's and has been a beloved perennial for fall gardening since its introduction. A stately plant that preblooms in late summer, provided lovely clear white flowers swaying in the late summer breezes. Anemone is a reliable and easy plant to grow, and will grace your fall garden.

Once established, it will naturalize quickly through rhizomatous colonies. This lovely plant provides months of interest beginning in mid-spring when its mounded foliage emerges. During spring and summer, 'Honorine Jobert' is an easy keeper, needing no maintenance when grown in part to full shade. By mid-summer, lovely pre-blooms appear above long, dark olive stems jutting through the lush mounds. The anemone blooms burst from the ends of the wirey stems where the paper-light flowers move effortlessly in the slightlest breeze. These spent blooms give way to an extraordinary seed head that appears as a ball of cotton on the end of the stem which holds all through the winter if left untouched.

Tips: In order to ensure success when first planting, follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. It's important to remove old flowers to prolong flowering and cut back to the ground at the end of the season.
